That sure is pretty.

It's a beautiful bike. It's good that they've made it a truly modern motorcycle with up to date suspension and brakes. I never had a Norton, but I admired them from afar. I'll bet one of these first 100 are very pricey.

It's also good to see that the "Norton Girls" are alive and obviously healthy!!

Did not dare ask the price, I'm thinking 15-20,000?
My first road bike was a 1973 Norton commando. I found
it in a guy's barn with an inch of dust and 1800 mi.
It was MINT. Some great memories! Went and looked at some new Honda's and Suzuki's today. When you casually mention
that it would be fun to have a bike again and your wife
say's go get one. You keep your mouth shut!!

I don't know which models you're looking at but if you get a chance to ride one like mine (pic #7) I guarantee you'll like it. It's a Honda ST1300 with shaft drive and water cooled V4. These are really made for the long haul and will provide well over 100K miles with just normal maintenance. The power windshield lets you go from a low sporty look to complete wind protection as you ride.

How's the insurance these day's ? I am a little dissapointed with the Japanese bike makers. Seems
like they are tring to make HD look a likes with
all the street bikes.
I am just begining to look, going to check out a Beemer.

I'm not into that whole Harley thing. My wife wouldn't want her own bike. Anyway, you don't take sand to the beach.
I am just looking for a little selfish mental escape.

I hear ya. If you ask the dealers they'll tell you that the majority of the bikes they sell are "cruiser" models. I don't really care for them that much either. I ride 10K + each year, sometimes down into the 30's (temp) and want some decent wind protection.

Having said that I would love to buy my neighbors HD low rider just for having fun. Smile

Insurance seems to vary considerably by region. Here in Wisconsin I pay about $350/year full coverage for a bike worth about $12K. Two other bikes I have with liability coverage only are insured for $50/year. It sounds like ins can cost MUCH more in other states.

Have fun looking at beemers. They make a quality machine, if somewhat pricey.
Dave

Insurance on the 984 cc Buell is <$30/month in WV, 40 y/o male with no tickets, or accidents.

Good luck,
Bill

It would be a used one. (BMW)
Would like to drive due north as far as I can, someday.
Don't care for the HD either. Loud, vibrating,
and expensive to fix.
My brother sold his not to long ago,2003 fat boy?
I drove it a few times, wouldn't want to have to make any quick moves with it. I call it a cult, Lawyer by day E-z rider on the weekend. It is quite the phenomenon.
